How does automatically buying tickets work?

Written by Frank

With “Auto buy tickets”, you set your criteria and you'll automatically purchase tickets when they become available. This feature is only available for certain events.

How do I set it up?

On the event screen, tap ‘Auto buy tickets’ and follow these steps:

  • Choose your ticket type.

  • Select how many tickets. When more than one, you can toggle "only buy all tickets at once", so we wait until enough tickets are available together.

  • Set your maximum price per ticket: you'll only buy at or below this price.

  • Pick an expiration time: you won’t automatically buy after this date.

  • Add a payment method.

What happens when tickets become available?

You'll buy them right away. You'll get a notification and find the ticket in your account, just like any other TicketSwap purchase.

Can I change or cancel it?

Yes! On the event page, tap Change to adjust your settings, or cancel it at any time. You can also manage all your active ones from “Account settings > Automatically buy tickets”.

Is there a waiting list?

Yes. If others have also set up ‘Auto buy tickets’ for the same event, you'll be placed in a queue. We'll show you how many others are ahead of you upfront.

How are purchases prioritised?

Purchases are prioritised by the maximum price you’ve set. If you want to increase your chances of getting a ticket ahead of others, you can cancel your existing Auto buy reservation, create a new one and set a new maximum price.

If multiple buyers have set the same maximum price, priority is given on a first-come, first-served basis.

You'll never pay more than your maximum price. If a ticket becomes available for less, you'll pay the lower listing price instead. This means you can increase your chances of getting a ticket by committing to a higher maximum price, without automatically paying that amount.
